Ward Manager ( RMN ) 
Salary - £44,375 - £50,329 per annum  
Location - Gosport
Hours - Permanent, Full Time 37.5 hours per week
Shift Pattern - 09:00 -5:00, with one day being 07:00 - 7:30 (can be discussed at interview)

Summary
Appoint Healthcare are proud to partner with an extremely reputable leading national provider of mental health services for males with mental health needs and learning disabilities. Together we are seeking a Ward Manager - Senior Mental Health Nurse ( RMN ) for their male high dependency, mental health hospital based in Portsmouth.

As a qualified Ward Manager / Senior Registered Mental Health Nurse ( RMN ), you will ensure  males in this high dependency, mental health hospital receive high-quality care, while also leading your colleagues and promoting positive teamwork. Caring for conditions including psychosis, bipolar disorder, self-harm, substance misuse and sexual offending.

Providing community - focused rehabilitation services within a full care pathway, working across two wards.
 

Requirements

  • A relevant nursing qualification ( RMN )
  • A valid NMC registration with no restrictions or referrals
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK
  • Experience in managing a nursing team whilst maintaining high professional standards.
  • A minimum of 2 years of mental health experience as a nurse, in the UK
  • Strong team-working skills
  • A high level of self-motivation and a flexible approach
  • A positive attitude and be naturally caring and compassionate
  • A commitment to high-quality care and to values and evidence-based practice 

Some duties will include

  • Have oversight of the clinical and care needs of all patients, supporting your wider MDT and nurses in working with patients, their families, community teams to meet the individual needs of each person
  • Stay abreast of national guidance and best practice, lead by example and provide guidance, and support in the development and education of your team (e.g. RMNs and HCAs)
  • Focus on proactive clinical risk assessments, nursing assessments, the development of clinical models, quality improvement measures, least restriction interventions and medication management
