Position: Mechanical Fitter

Location: Gloucester

Position: Permanent

Working hours: 37 hours Monday to Friday (every other Friday off) 7:15 am to 16:00 Monday to Friday

Salary: £31000 to £32000

An exciting opportunity has arisen with my client. They are a successful engineering company that are offering a stable and lucrative career in their purpose build manufacturing facility. They require Mechanical Fitters, to join their growing team.

The appropriate mechanical fitter would be responsible for:

To fit and assemble machine parts accurately to engineering drawing.
To accurately fit sub assembly parts using engineering drawings.
Use hand tools and power tools to fit and assemble components.
Use pillar drills, deburring tools and grinding wheels safely where necessary.
Use engineering measuring equipment where necessary to ensure components are to specification.
Drill and tap components when necessary.
Ensure all torque requirements are met and marked as per procedure.
Fit / pipe pneumatic and water circuits using either copper or plastic pipe work.
Working to technical engineering drawings
Building assemblies and sub-assemblies

Requirement:

Previous mechanical engineering experience and competence in mechanical fitting,
A good understanding of mechanical drawings and schematics
A desire to be part of a highly motivated team.
Hard working
The knowledge of mechanical assembly and fitting from a production or engineering type background is essential and the ability to interpret basic drawings is required.
