Position: Mechanical Fitter

Location: Gloucester

Position: Permanent

Working hours: 37 hours Monday to Friday (every other Friday off) 7:15 am to 16:00 Monday to Friday

Salary: £31000 to £32000

An exciting opportunity has arisen with my client. They are a successful engineering company that are offering a stable and lucrative career in their purpose build manufacturing facility. They require Mechanical Fitters, to join their growing team.

The appropriate mechanical fitter would be responsible for:

  • To fit and assemble machine parts accurately to engineering drawing.
  • To accurately fit sub assembly parts using engineering drawings.
  • Use hand tools and power tools to fit and assemble components.
  • Use pillar drills, deburring tools and grinding wheels safely where necessary.
  • Use engineering measuring equipment where necessary to ensure components are to specification.
  • Drill and tap components when necessary.
  • Ensure all torque requirements are met and marked as per procedure.
  • Fit / pipe pneumatic and water circuits using either copper or plastic pipe work.
  • Working to technical engineering drawings
  • Building assemblies and sub-assemblies

Requirement:

  • Previous mechanical engineering experience and competence in mechanical fitting,
  • A good understanding of mechanical drawings and schematics
  • A desire to be part of a highly motivated team.
  • Hard working
  • The knowledge of mechanical assembly and fitting from a production or engineering type background is essential and the ability to interpret basic drawings is required.
