Join our dedicated team as a WEX Advisor and Assessor for Early Years, where you will play a crucial role in sourcing high-quality work placements and related activities for students on Early Years Study Programmes. This position is ideal for someone passionate about enhancing students’ career aspirations and ensuring their educational experiences align with their professional goals.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Liaise with curriculum staff to meet work placement requirements and encourage further involvement as opportunities arise.
  • Use contacts within the sector to identify and secure work placements and work experience opportunities from new, lapsed, and existing employers, managing these relationships to maximise future opportunities.
  • Generate new work placement and work experience opportunities through various activities such as telesales, mail-outs, networking events, social media, and advertising.
  • Support T Level students in sourcing placements and conducting necessary observations.
  • Carry out assessments in line with the relevant qualification aims and requirements.
  • Assist in establishing sector-specific employer advisory boards to design and confirm the skills needed for their sector and steer employability outcomes.
  • Complete necessary Health and Safety checks with employers as required by the College’s WEX Policy.
  • Engage with curriculum teams to contribute to the design, delivery, and assessment of the Career Advantage Framework.
  • Regularly meet with students, both in groups and individually, to identify their career aspirations and match them to high-quality placements.
  • Promote and support the use of our online placement and skills portal - Navigate.
  • Monitor student attendance, behaviour, and performance while on placement and liaise with personal tutors regarding any concerns or follow-ups.
  • Ensure the CRM system is kept up to date regarding student work placement activities.
  • Work with Tutors, Lecturers, students, and employers to secure sustainable opportunities, and track and monitor these on an ongoing basis, providing reports as requested.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in sourcing and managing work placements within the Early Years sector.
  • Strong networking and relationship management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft software packages, particularly Excel, for data management and report generation.
  • Ability to work flexibly within a team and adapt to changing needs.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
