Your new companyA long-established general main contractor seek a permanent site manager to join the busy team. Based in south-east London and working on a mixture of new build and refurbishment schemes. Projects are typically in the greater London area, up to 5 mill in value and include education, healthcare, care home, office fit-out and occasionally residential. With over 10 live schemes plus several ongoing frameworks, they represent a well respected & extremely stable business. Due to a sustained upturn in work, this is a newly created role working within an experienced team of site, project and contract managers. Initial site will be either a new £3 Mill education refurb scheme in East London or a £4 Mill private residential scheme in Croydon.Your new roleAs site manager, you will be expected to run your own scheme as a number one after a settling in period. You will be comfortable overseeing a project from site set up through to handover managing internal staff and external subcontractors. You will be responsible for short term programming, co-ordinating works, quality control, overseeing health and safety documentation, liaising with all relevant stakeholders and generally ensuring a safe, happy productive site. You will report to a visiting contracts manager and initially be shadowing an existing PM to learn the company processes.What you'll need to succeedYou will have experience of working as a site manager previous and be comfortable managing your own projects, ideally in the £1 - 5 mill range, You will be able to demonstrate a stable background within a main contractor and hold valid cscs, smsts and first aid qualifications. You will be looking for a long-term career move as a site manager and be comfortable travelling into central London/Greater London.
