We are looking for a dedicated Senior Practitioner to join our outstanding Safeguarding and Care Planning Service. This role is ideal for a registered professional with a passion for child welfare and a background in court-related social work. Day to Day of the Role:- Manage a caseload focusing on children at significant risk of harm, where court intervention is necessary.
- Prepare concise, evidence-based reports for court and adoption panels.
- Meet court timelines for the submission of statements and care plans.
- Undertake assessments and plan appropriate interventions for children and families in court proceedings.
- Work closely with the Children’s Legal Team to ensure cases are well-prepared and timely.
- Hold a limited caseload to maintain the highest standards of practice.
- Collaborate with colleagues across teams and partner agencies for effective and timely assessments.
- Recent court experience in a safeguarding team.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to write high-standard reports and articulate evidence in care proceedings.
- Good understanding of safeguarding thresholds, child development, and attachment theories.
- Proficiency in direct work with children, keeping their welfare central to care planning.
- Registration with Social Work England or eligibility to obtain registration before employment.
