We are looking for a dedicated Senior Practitioner to join our outstanding Safeguarding and Care Planning Service. This role is ideal for a registered professional with a passion for child welfare and a background in court-related social work. Day to Day of the Role:
  • Manage a caseload focusing on children at significant risk of harm, where court intervention is necessary.
  • Prepare concise, evidence-based reports for court and adoption panels.
  • Meet court timelines for the submission of statements and care plans.
  • Undertake assessments and plan appropriate interventions for children and families in court proceedings.
  • Work closely with the Children’s Legal Team to ensure cases are well-prepared and timely.
  • Hold a limited caseload to maintain the highest standards of practice.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across teams and partner agencies for effective and timely assessments.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Recent court experience in a safeguarding team.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to write high-standard reports and articulate evidence in care proceedings.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding thresholds, child development, and attachment theories.
  • Proficiency in direct work with children, keeping their welfare central to care planning.
  • Registration with Social Work England or eligibility to obtain registration before employment.
