Job Title: Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant
Location: Bromley
Pay:
£89-110 per day (via PAYE)

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with autism? Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Practitioner to join an outstanding Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Bromley. As part of this team, you will support children with autism spectrum condition (ASC) to access their education in a positive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with autism.
  • Help implement individualized learning plans (IEPs) tailored to each child's needs.
  • Foster a supportive and positive classroom environment.
  • Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
  • Assist in developing communication strategies and sensory interventions.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Maintain records of student progress and contribute to review meetings.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience working with children with autism or special educational needs.
  • A caring, patient, and flexible approach to supporting students.
  • Knowledge of autism spectrum disorder and strategies to support learning.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • An understanding of the importance of a child-centered approach to education.
  • A relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs or related fields (e.g. Teaching Assistant qualification, ABA training, or similar).

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience working within an SEN school setting.
  • Familiarity with specific autism interventions (e.g. PECS, TEACCH, ABA).
  • A proactive and positive attitude toward developing new strategies and approaches.
