You will provide one-on-one support, helping students engage with their learning and develop independence, literacy and mathematics skills. • Based in Bromley, this fantastic SEN school is a large, friendly and well respected in the local community with multiple campuses across South East London
• Pupils from Bromley and across Lewisham who attend this school are offered a broad and balanced curriculum, that is tailored around an extensive knowledge of their learning difficulties and tailored to them.
• Support and training offered every week to further develop your knowledge and skills as teaching assistant for children with varied needs.
• You will be working with skilled Teachers and other PMLD Teaching Assistant's in a classroom environment

The PMLD Teaching Assistant Responsibilities

• Work with class teachers to raise the learning of pupils
• Promote pupil's independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
• Give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement
• Support with planning, preparation and resourcing for lessons that promote play-based learning
• Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities
• Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school's policy and procedures
• Organise and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment
• Support with personal care when needed with other staff members
