An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Teaching Assistant/HLTA to join a great special school in Bromley. The school dedicated to supporting children and young people with SEN, including social communication, speech and language, cognition and learning, SEMH, and physical and sensory needs.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Support the delivery of educational programs tailored to the individual needs of students with SEN.
  • Work closely with teachers to implement strategies that promote student learning and engagement.
  • Assist in the preparation and organisation of learning materials and classroom environments.
  • Provide support to students in classroom activities and ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as required.
  • Manage challenging behaviour effectively and promote positive behaviours among students.
  • Participate in training and development sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge in SEN education.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA, preferably within an SEN setting.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with children in sometimes challenging situations.
  • A relevant supporting teaching and learning qualification is preferred, or willingness to undertake necessary training.
  • A strong commitment to the development and welfare of children.
