We are seeking a motivated and supportive Student Achievement Tutor to join our team. In this vital role, you will provide academic support and guidance to help students achieve their potential, overcome challenges, and succeed in their studies. You will work closely with both students and academic staff to ensure a positive and enriching student experience.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one academic support to students, focusing on improving their study skills, time management, and academic performance.
  • Offer tailored advice and guidance to students on how to overcome academic challenges and reach their goals.
  • Monitor and track student progress, identifying areas for improvement and providing proactive support.
  • Assist students in developing effective revision techniques, exam strategies, and coursework planning.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure students receive the necessary academic interventions and support.
  • Provide pastoral support, including guidance on mental well-being, motivation, and personal development.
  • Organise and lead workshops or group sessions on topics such as study skills, stress management, and academic writing.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, support provided, and any actions taken.

Essential Criteria:

  • Strong academic background, with relevant qualifications in education or a related field.
  • Experience of providing academic support or tutoring in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and encourage students.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach to supporting student achievement.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience in a student support or tutoring role.
  • Knowledge of the challenges faced by students in higher education or further education settings.
  • Familiarity with student achievement and progress tracking systems.
  • A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent).
