Responsibilities:

  • Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities, including setting up materials, managing student behaviour, and facilitating group work.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who need additional help with their academic tasks and assignments.
  • Help prepare instructional materials and resources, and assist in implementing lesson plans under the guidance of the teacher.
  • Support the teacher in maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment, addressing minor issues, and encouraging student participation.
  • Assist with grading assignments, taking attendance, and maintaining student records as required.
  • Act as a liaison between students, teachers, and parents, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Oversee students during non-classroom activities, such as lunch and transitions between classes.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on educational best practices.

Requirements:

  • Teaching Qualification desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning
