Role Overview

Are you a driven Network Engineer eager to make an impact within a collaborative and versatile infrastructure team? We're seeking a proactive individual to maintain, secure, and optimize our IT network, ensuring top performance, security, and reliability. In this role, you'll not only support our current systems but also contribute to implementing security-focused updates and network improvements.

As part of a small team, you’ll work on both network-centric tasks and infrastructure and security projects, gaining experience across multiple areas of IT.

**Key Responsibilities**

- Network Infrastructure Management: Maintain and optimize network performance, including virtual networks, cloud infrastructure, and WAN technologies.

- Security and Disaster Recovery: Manage and support backup and disaster recovery systems, implementing updates in line with business guidelines.

- Device Management: Configure and manage firewalls, routers, load balancers, and switches to ensure secure and efficient network performance.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with security and infrastructure engineers, appreciating and fulfilling their unique requirements.

- Performance Monitoring: Analyze network performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve bottlenecks proactively.

- Helpdesk Support: Collaborate with and educate helpdesk staff on network-related issues, providing support as needed.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

- Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge in TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, load balancing, VPNs, and network protocols.

- Device Management: Strong skills in configuring and maintaining network devices such as firewalls, routers, and switches.

- OS Proficiency: Extensive knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.

- Analytical Skills: Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.

- Flexibility: Willingness to work outside of core hours when needed.

Desirable Experience and Skills

- Cloud Services:Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and AWS architectures.

- Vendor-Specific Knowledge: Experience with Cisco Switches, Fortinet firewalls, and Dell Servers (iDRAC preferred).

- Resiliency Platforms: Knowledge of Veeam and Zerto for data backup and recovery.

- Security Tools: Experience with Rapid7 and ITIL practices.

- Scripting and Automation: Ability to create scripts to automate network solutions.

- Pentest Remediation: Plan and implement pen test remediations, communicating impacts to key business stakeholders.

- Certificate Management: Knowledge in updating Self Signed/Domain certificates across network services/devices.
