Technical Underwriter - Casualty

Fixed Term Contract - 12 months, with a view to extend by mutual consent.

Based in SouthEast London, near Bromley - Hybrid working - 3 days in, 2 days out.

Salary to circa £65k

We are recruiting for an experienced Casualty Underwriter, with experience of portfolio management, or working with binders and the management of profitability.

It is a varied role :-

  • to include referrals from the UW team, helping to find the best way forward for the business, broker and client.
  • to work closely with the insurers to ensure continued profitability is secured.
  • to continually help to review the products, wordings, endorsements.
  • to continually review rating/pricing with insurers to balance competitive and profitable trading

We are looking for an individual :-

  • with strong experience of UK Commercial Casualty - whether in isolation or as part of a package.
  • who knows their way around a Casualty policy to help with the technical review of covers and extensions
  • who can help the business respond quickly to cases that might be under attack, and who understands how to work with junior members of staff to coach them through referrals
  • who can attend the office 3 days a week, with 2 WFH.
