Position: Behaviour Manager for Internal Exclusion

Location: Secondary School, Bromley

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term (until the end of the academic year)

Salary: Dependent on experience

About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Behaviour Manager to oversee our Internal Exclusion unit. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and supporting students who require internal exclusion, ensuring they receive appropriate guidance to reintegrate successfully into mainstream classes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Internal Exclusion unit, maintaining a structured and supportive environment.
  • Develop and implement behaviour management strategies tailored to individual student needs.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and parents to monitor and support student progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of student behaviour, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Provide mentoring and support to students to promote positive behavioural changes.
  • Ensure that students in internal exclusion continue to access the curriculum and receive appropriate educational materials.
  • Uphold the school's behaviour policies and contribute to their ongoing development.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a pastoral or behaviour management role within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and restorative practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to remain calm and assertive in challenging situations.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Valid DBS check registered on the update service.
