Our client, a well-established law firm based in the Bromley area. Their continued success is built on strong core values and a commitment to excellence. They are currently seeking a dedicated and professional PA/Paralegal Secretary to join their Family Law department, providing high-level support within a dynamic and respected team.

Salary: £15.50 - £17.00 per hour

Start: ASAP - 4 to 6 weeks

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

Location: Bromley

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Typing letters, emails, and legal documents (audio and copy typing).
  • Speaking with clients in person and over the phone in a professional, friendly manner.
  • Handling file management, including opening, closing, storing, and retrieving both digital and paper files.
  • Assisting with monthly billing, processing payments, and preparing statements of account.
  • Preparing documents and correspondence packs, including copying and sending out.
  • Compiling and paginating court bundles.
  • Setting up meeting rooms, providing refreshments, and tidying up after meetings.
  • Occasionally attending client meetings.
  • Supporting other secretaries within the team when needed.
  • Completing any required training.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of all client and firm information.
  • Managing post each morning: scanning to system, updating court dates and reminders in Outlook.
  • Booking meetings with clients, barristers, and experts.
  • Answering calls and emails on behalf of fee earners when necessary.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong IT skills, including fast and accurate audio typing (approx. 70 wpm).
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Experience using legal software such as Laserform.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong command of the English language.
  • Well-organised with excellent time management.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Previous experience in a legal environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with family law, matrimonial forms, and terminology is a bonus.
  • Experience using case management systems (ideally Visual Files and SOS).
  • Comfortable operating standard office equipment (e.g. photocopiers, scanners).
