An experienced Business Operations Manager is sought by this well-established multi-academy trust with schools across southeast London and Kent. This is a key appointment working at one of the prime secondary schools in Bromley. You will be part of the senior leadership team and the key contact for all stakeholders across the Academy.

Reporting to the Executive Principal and leading a team of five staff, the Business Operations Manager will be responsible for the following:

Strategic management of all non-academic operations of the Academy, leading on all aspects of Admissions, Administration and Premises, including catering and cleaning.

  • Drive improvements in the school in line with the school development plan.
  • Promote best practice and ensure the school is compliant in Health & Safety legislation.
  • Conduct risk assessments and oversee capital projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Oversee lettings to increase income and business opportunities.

The successful candidate will bring substantial operational and strategic experience, coupled with a notable track record in managing people in multi-disciplinary teams, ideally within the education sector. A practical knowledge of business planning and organisational management will be critical, together with effective budget management. You will manage multiple workstreams successfully and efficiently whilst maintaining a calm and professional manner and have full control at an operational level.

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent or hold a qualification in School Business Management (ISBL) with proven experience of working within the secondary or FE/HE sector.

This is a demanding role and requires a calm, pragmatic approach, an individual who is 'on point' with detail, who will successfully support the operational function, managing upwards effectively. Competent use of MS Office applications is essential.

Due to the demands of this post, there is no hybrid working on offer.
