About the Role:We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Music Teacher to join our academy, working with Key Stage 3 and 4 students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role offers an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to lead the Music Department, shaping the musical journey of our students and contributing to our broader vocational curriculum.

Whether you hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or are an experienced unqualified teacher, we welcome applications from individuals passionate about teaching music and supporting students with additional needs. You will start on a temporary basis, with the opportunity to move into a permanent position after 12 weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality music lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with SEMH challenges.
  • Create a positive and engaging learning environment where students feel supported and inspired.
  • Lead and develop the Music Department, working closely with senior leaders to implement a vibrant, inclusive music curriculum.
  • Work collaboratively with staff across the school to ensure holistic support for students’ academic and personal development.
  • Support students' emotional well-being and encourage resilience and mutual respect in the classroom.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, setting achievable yet challenging goals for all learners.
  • Participate in extra-curricular activities and enrichment opportunities that promote students' love for music and creativity.
