Our client is growing SME construction company that due to impressive growth they are currently seeking Project Surveyor to join their team based in Bromley Kent. They have a specialism in High End residential and the Wellness Sector. They are hugely client focused look to look to build strong client bonds seeing the projects from design through to completion.

Role Overview:

As a Project Quantity Surveyor, you will play a critical role in the financial and contractual management of our projects. Your expertise will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual agreements. You will be responsible for managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from initial calculations to final figures.

Key Responsibilities:

Sub-Contract and Material Procurement:Demonstrate proficiency in producing enquiries, analysing tenders, making recommendations, and placing orders. Ensure that all procurement activities are carried out in a cost-effective manner while maintaining quality and compliance with project specifications.

Sub-Contract Management:Effectively manage sub-contracts from valuation through to final account. This includes managing change orders, ensuring that all subcontract work is completed in accordance with the contract, and processing payments in a timely manner.

Cost Reporting and Forecasting:Have a strong understanding and awareness of cost reporting principles. This involves preparing cost and cash flow forecasts, and reporting on actual costs vs. budgeted costs to ensure financial objectives are met.

Project Estimation and Pricing:Assist in estimating and pricing new project opportunities, working closely with the project management and business development teams to prepare competitive bids.

Project Execution:Work collaboratively with the project management team to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with the contract.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in sub-contract and material procurement processes.
  • Strong skills in sub-contract management, including valuation and final accounting.
  • Knowledge of cost reporting principles, including cost and cash flow forecasting.
  • Experience in assisting with estimating and pricing for new project opportunities.
  • Refurbishment project experience is preferable but not essential.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

This is a role that will require 2 days in the office a week Min and also some site visits when needed .
