About the Role:
We are on the lookout for a dedicated SEMH English Teacher to join our dynamic team. This full-time position focuses on teaching English to students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. Your role will be pivotal in helping students progress academically and personally.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Planning, preparing, and delivering captivating English lessons tailored to the unique needs of SEMH students.
- Creating a nurturing classroom atmosphere that fosters learning and well-being.
- Using a variety of educational techniques, including storytelling, games, and media presentations, to make learning fun and effective.
- Assessing and recording student progress, providing constructive feedback and grades.
- Keeping the classroom tidy and organised.
- Collaborating with fellow teachers, parents, and stakeholders, and participating in regular meetings.
- Planning and executing exciting in-class and outdoor activities and events.
- Observing and understanding student behaviour and reporting any concerns.
What We're Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience with the KS3 curriculum.
- A strong understanding of the challenges faced by SEMH students.
- Proven ability to adapt learning materials to meet diverse educational and emotional needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, creativity, and flexibility.
