Job Overview:We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join our supportive and dynamic department on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will be responsible for delivering the English curriculum, preparing students for their GCSEs, and fostering a love of reading, writing, and literature.
Key Responsibilities:-
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in English to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

Develop and implement engaging, differentiated lesson plans that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.

Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and developing strategies to support their academic growth.

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported and motivated to achieve their best.

Collaborate with colleagues within the English Department to develop the curriculum, share resources, and improve teaching practices.

Participate in the development of resources, schemes of work, and the overall direction of the English Department.

Prepare students for external exams, ensuring they are confident and well-prepared for their GCSE English assessments.

Contribute to the school’s wider extracurricular activities, such as literary clubs, book fairs, and school productions.

Attend departmental and whole-school meetings, and engage in CPD opportunities to continue developing professionally.

Ensure that all students have equal access to the English curriculum, including students with special educational needs (SEN).

Maintain effective classroom management, upholding the school's behavior policy and ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.

Safeguard the well-being of students and support their personal development, in line with the school’s pastoral system.

A degree in English or a related subject.

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

Experience teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 English.

Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and GCSE English specifications.
