Social Worker - Adult Learning Disability Team

We are on the lookout for dedicated and skilled Social Workers to join our Adult Learning Disability team. This is an opportunity to contribute to a vital service, providing care management and safeguarding support to adults with learning disabilities and/or autism, as well as their unpaid carers.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Conducting strength-based Care Act assessments, Mental Capacity Assessments (MCA), and annual statutory reviews.
  • Managing duty on an occasional basis and engaging in Court of Protection (COP) work.
  • Handling safeguarding cases and longer-term casework.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and maintaining strong working relationships with partner agencies.
  • Providing supervision and support to less experienced staff, if applicable.
  • Undertaking S.42 work, MCA’s, and best interest assessments.
  • Efficiently travelling within and outside the borough for care needs assessments and reviews.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with the relevant professional body.
  • Experience in a similar role within a multidisciplinary framework.
  • Excellent report writing, record-keeping, and computer skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Flexibility, commitment, and a willingness to work to quality standards.
  • Experience in supervision is desirable but not essential.
  • Full current driving licence and use of a vehicle are desirable.
