Join the dynamic Early Intervention in Psychosis Team in Orpington, where we are committed to improving the lives of people in the London Borough of Bromley through innovative and supportive social care. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Social Worker / AMHP to contribute to our service transformation programme and uphold our values of excellence in service delivery.

Day-to-Day of the Role:
  • Provide assessment and social care support within a multi-disciplinary setting for people with mental health needs and their carers.
  • Take a professional lead for AMHP practice within the team and participate in a duty rota.
  • Engage in robust assessments using safeguarding procedures, focusing on making safeguarding personal.
  • Hold a small caseload concentrating on those with complex care needs.
  • Coordinate, participate in, and chair planning meetings, reviews, and case conferences.
  • Provide professional supervision to social workers and guidance to junior members of the team.
  • Act as a Practice Educator/Assessor for social work students and AMHP trainees.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must hold a DipSW, CQSW, or degree in Social Work and be a qualified AMHP.
  • Registration with Social Work England is mandatory.
  • Demonstrable experience in mental health settings, particularly in early intervention in psychosis.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation including the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007).
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads and provide supervision.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
