Join the dedicated Community Mental Health teams in Orpington and Beckenham as a Senior Social Worker / AMHP. This role is pivotal in supporting both community and in-patient services, focusing on enhancing the independence and quality of life of service users. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a transformative phase in Adult Social Care within the London Borough of Bromley.

Day-to-Day of the Role
  • Offer support to both community and in-patient services, focusing on collaborative work with service users to enhance their independence and quality of life.
  • Undertake statutory responsibilities including Care Act duties and safeguarding for both adults and children.
  • Provide professional leadership for AMHP practice within the team and participate in a duty rota.
  • Hold a small caseload focusing on individuals with complex care needs.
  • Provide supervision, mentoring, and support for the learning of other staff members.
  • Engage in continuous learning and development, ensuring adherence to the skills and knowledge required for the post.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Must hold a DipSW, CQSW, or a degree in Social Work and be a qualified AMHP and Practice Educator.
  • Registration with Social Work England is mandatory.
  • Proven experience in supervision, mentoring, or supporting the learning of others.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation including the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007), and other relevant policies.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of managing complex situations and providing guidance in a multidisciplinary setting.
