An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Behaviour Mentor to join a dedicated and nurturing school in Bromley, which supports students in Key Stages 2 and 3 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and challenging behaviour. The school is looking for someone with strong behaviour management skills, who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and thrive both socially and academically.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to students with EBD and SEMH needs, helping them manage their behaviour in a positive and constructive way.
  • Work 1:1 and in small groups to support emotional regulation, social skills, and resilience.
  • Assist in implementing behaviour support plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students to foster engagement and participation.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCO, and external agencies to support each student's development and wellbeing.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people with EBD, SEMH, or challenging behaviour is essential.
  • Strong behaviour management skills, with the ability to remain calm and assertive in difficult situations.
  • A passion for working with vulnerable young people and making a real difference in their lives.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • A background in mentoring, youth work, or a related field is desirable.
