# Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant with expertise in supporting students with Autism and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). As part of our inclusive and diverse educational environment, you will play a crucial role in providing individualised support to students with special needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a safe and nurturing classroom setting. The positions will start as temporary and have the option to move onto permanent contracts after 12 academic weeks.

There is a highly competitive rate of pay which is 85 to 90per day, depending on experience for working hours of 8.30am-3.45pm.

# Responsibilities
- Work closely with the SEN coordinator and classroom teachers to develop and implement individualized education programs for students with Autism and PMLD.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, assisting with academic tasks, social skills development, and personal care needs.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment by promoting positive behavior management strategies and fostering a sense of belonging for all students.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and other support staff, to ensure a holistic approach to students' development and well-being.
- Monitor and document students' progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents/guardians.

# Qualifications
- Previous experience working with individuals with Autism and PMLD is essential.
- A relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs or a related field is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of effective strategies for supporting students with diverse needs, including communication aids, sensory integration techniques, and behavior management approaches.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols.

# Day-to-Day
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will spend your days providing individualized support to students with Autism and PMLD, adapting educational materials, and activities as needed. You will collaborate closely with teachers and support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment, and play an integral role in the academic and emotional development of our students. Your compassionate and patient approach will help students thrive and reach their full potential.
