Are you an experienced social work practitioner looking for a new and rewarding challenge? The Encompass Fostering Therapeutic Service at the London Borough of Bromley is seeking a dedicated Senior Practitioner to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with higher needs, by supporting foster carers within our Encompass Hubs.

About the Role

The Encompass Fostering Therapeutic Service consists of a team of highly experienced foster carers and supervising social workers. This newly launched initiative provides extensive support to therapeutically trained carers, ensuring children with complex needs can thrive in a nurturing, family-based environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake Encompass Family Assessments.
  • Conduct home visits, provide supervision, and support Encompass foster carers in their role.
  • Attend Personal Education Plan (PEP) meetings, Looked After Child (CLA) reviews, and other relevant meetings.
  • Carry out unannounced home visits to ensure compliance and safeguarding.
  • Keep Encompass families' compliance checks up to date.
  • Participate in panels, matching meetings, and reviews.
  • Support projects within the Hub to achieve an outstanding rating.
  • Collaborate closely with Children's Services to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.
