Senior Practitioner - Fostering
  • Salary: Up to £53,373 per annum (dependent on experience)

We are excited to offer a permanent position for a full-time Senior Practitioner within the Encompass Fostering Therapeutic Service. This role is crucial in supporting highly experienced foster carers and supervising social workers as part of a newly launched project aimed at providing extensive support to therapeutically trained carers, enabling them to care for children with higher needs in a nurturing, family-based setting.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Conduct Encompass Family Assessments.
  • Perform home visits to Encompass families, supervising and supporting them with the children and young people in their care.
  • Attend Personal Education Plans (PEPs), Children Looked After (CLA) reviews, and other relevant meetings.
  • Undertake unannounced home visits to ensure ongoing compliance and support.
  • Maintain up-to-date compliance checks for Encompass families.
  • Participate in panels and meetings for matching purposes and reviews.
  • Collaborate on projects within the Hub to achieve outstanding status.
  • Work closely with all children’s services to ensure the best interests of the children and young people are served.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in fostering or therapeutic care settings.
  • Strong assessment and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of care and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
