Global Markets Generative AI Lab Platform/Software Engineer

Location: Bromley, 3 days per week on site required

Duration: 6-month Contract

Rate: £700.00 - £750.00 per day through umbrella

About the Role

As a Platform/Software Engineer in the Global Markets Generative AI Lab, you will be instrumental in designing and developing the infrastructure for a dynamic AI environment. You will work closely with Sales & Trading, Quantitative Strategies, and Platform teams to create a global AI platform that leverages data for insights and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of complex features, ensuring consistency across the platform.
  • Package and deliver software, models, and configurations for proof-of-concept use in containerized environments.
  • Automate processes for software delivery, including testing, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Define the technology stack, evaluate new tools, and set best practices for the team.
  • Maintain a central, version-controlled inventory of all environments and configurations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify high-level solution needs and align technical requirements.
  • Partner closely with Production Support and Engineering to manage costs and improve efficiency.

Technical Skills:

  • Proven experience in designing and maintaining end-to-end environments, from proof-of-concept to production.
  • Expertise in DevOps processes and CICD tools (Jira, Git, Jenkins, Artifactory, Ansible).
  • Strong understanding of multi-tier Python-based web applications, containerized (Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift) environments, and cloud/on-premises deployments.
  • Experience with both relational (SQL Server/Oracle) and no-SQL (MongoDB) databases.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring for GPU/CPU performance and model optimization.
