A large Primary School located in Bromley are seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join them ASAP to work with students in EYFS and KS1. The role consists of working in a team of 2 rotating between 2 students with different needs - Global Delay, Downs Syndrome and ASD.

This is a full time role starting ASAP and would be until the end of the academic year with the view of being extended to the next academic year.

This lovely primary school located in Bromley and has local bus routes that stop very local to the school with parking is also available.

They are seeking a passionate and ideally an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who has experience with either Global delay, Downs Syndrome or ASD as well as working with a range of SEN needs on a full time or part time basis.

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
  • Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.

Requirements:

  • Previous child-based experience: A proven track record of working with children in an educational or supportive capacity.
  • Experience with SEND: A solid understanding of and experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
  • DBS on the update service: A valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check on the update service to ensure the safety and well-being of our students.
  • Passion for education: A genuine enthusiasm for contributing to the educational development and well-being of young individuals.
