About the Role of a SEN Teaching Assistant:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people by providing tailored support to help them reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with ASD.
- Assist in the development and delivery of personalised learning plans.
- Support students in managing their sensory and communication needs in a positive manner.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
- Encourage social interaction and engagement in learning activities.
- Help create a structured, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to relevant staff and parents/carers.
- Assist with classroom preparation.
Requirements for a SEN Teaching Assistant:
Essential:
- Experience working with children or young people with ASD or Special Educational Needs or experience working in care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
