About the Role of a SEN Teaching Assistant:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Key Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with ASD.

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Encourage social interaction and engagement in learning activities.

  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to relevant staff and parents/carers.
  • Assist with classroom preparation.

Requirements for a SEN Teaching Assistant:

Essential:

  • Experience working with children or young people with ASD or Special Educational Needs or experience working in care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
