SEN Teacher:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN teacher to join our supportive team in Bromley on a one-year maternity cover contract. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to creating an inclusive learning environment for Key Stage 2 students with a range of needs, including mild to complex needs, with a particular focus on students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

This exciting SEN school is located in Bromley and caters to students that have mild to complex needs and all have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Students from Bromley and the surrounding Borough of Lewisham join this school, and it has a real community feel. The facilities are new and they have adapted their classes to become personalised through pathways and a learning map for each individual student.

SEN Teacher Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver tailored lessons for Key Stage 2 students with ASD and other special educational needs.
Lead a team of teaching assistants to ensure effective support for students and maximise their learning outcomes.
Implement EHCPs to support student progress.
Create a positive, safe, and engaging classroom environment that supports student's social, emotional, and academic development.
Collaborate with parents, support staff, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
Use a variety of teaching methods to engage and motivate students with different learning needs.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and reporting to the SENCo and parents.

SEN Teacher Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Experience working with students with ASD and other special educational needs, particularly within Key Stage 2.
Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and the ability to differentiate learning.
Experience leading a team of teaching assistants to enhance student learning.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
