We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Finance Assistant with specific experience in managing subcontractor ledgers to join our client's dynamic finance team. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for accuracy and efficiency, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the subcontractor ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and UK regulations.
  • Process subcontractor payments, verifying invoices, and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Perform regular reconciliation of subcontractor accounts to ensure balance accuracy.
  • Support the preparation of monthly and year-end financial reports.
  • Assist with VAT and CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) returns related to subcontractor payments.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including procurement and project management, to ensure seamless communication and process efficiency.
  • Respond to subcontractor queries and provide excellent service to resolve issues effectively.
  • Maintain organised and up-to-date financial records, adhering to data protection regulations.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in finance, with a focus on subcontractor ledger management.
  • Strong knowledge of CIS regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial software systems (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle complex data accurately.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with subcontractors and colleagues.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

Desirable:

  • AAT qualification or equivalent (or working towards).
  • Experience in the construction, manufacturing, contractor services.

This role is full-time office based, and with on-site free parking.
