Location: Bromsgrove projects across the Midlands

Salary: £45,000 - £47,500 + company car + attractive benefits package

WRG are supporting a privately owned family groundworks and civil engineering contractor who operate across the UK. They are looking to appoint an experienced SHE Advisor to join the team in Bromsgrove and cover a range of projects across the Midlands.

Our client predominantly focuses on residential/ commercial groundworks and highways/ infrastructure projects throughout the UK. The business places a huge emphasis on safety across the organisation and would like to hire someone who shares the same values when it comes to safety, risk and compliance.

The role would suit an experienced H&S professional who has previously worked for a construction or civil engineering contractor and is familiar with groundworks projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and assistance to senior management and subordinates on SHE issues.
  • Attend pre-commencement meetings as requested to proactively contribute to the initial decisions made by thecontract team.
  • Provide assistance/ advice to the organisation to enable statutory notices to be applied for when required.
  • Bring to the attention of the Contracts Manager, SHE Director, Construction Director and/or others any seriousbreaches of Company policy, procedures and legislation.
  • Promote a positive H&S Culture within the business.
  • Assist the Regional SHE Manager to prepare health and safety strategies and develop internal policy.
  • Produce RAMS and ensure they are updated on a regular basis.
  • Planned site visits and audits including reporting and follow up actions.
  • Identify training needs and deliver on site training including toolbox talks.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents.
  • Ensure Company compliance with CDM regulations and other relevant statutes.

Requirements

  • NEBOSH Construction or equivalent.
  • Membership to IOSH, IIRSM, IEMA or similar professional body.
  • Previous experience as a Health and Safety Advisor having worked for a construction or civil engineering contractor.
  • Ability to work independently as well as contributing to team and companywide strategy.
  • Efficient audit monitoring skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Full UK driving license.
