Assistant Manager | 8 Partner Accountancy Practice

Reed are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a specialist accountancy practice in central London. The firm cater to a unique clientele within the international entertainment and media industry. As the team grows, they are looking for a dedicated Assistant Manager who is prepared to take ownership of their workload and collaborate effectively with both senior and junior team members. This role offers the chance to develop specialist skills and experience within a niche of the sector.

Day-to-Day of the Role:
  • Review bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management accounts.
  • Review financial statements and sole trade accounts.
  • Draft advice with the support of Managers and Directors.
  • Manage the affairs of a small portfolio of clients and act as the first point of contact.
  • Liaise with clients on their deadlines and other requirements, ensuring strong relationships are maintained.
  • Assist in the setting up and development of internal systems and controls, including implementing suitable accounting software.
  • Relay with confidence knowledge on tax and other affairs to reassure clients.
  • Create and implement new processes to ensure the smooth running of the practice.
  • Assist junior members of staff with their career development and contribute to internal training.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Professional qualification (ACA / ACCA or equivalent).
  • Solid public practice experience with a minimum of 2 years post-qualified experience.
  • High commitment to maintaining technical knowledge.
  • Proficiency in MS Products - Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Competence in using Xero; experience with Iris, Alpha, Quickbooks, and Sage 50 is beneficial.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with accuracy and focus.
  • Strong people and communication skills.
