To lead and manage the company's financial operations, ensuring robust financial controls, statutory compliance, and alignment with business objectives. The role supports strategic decision-making by providing accurate financial insights and developing efficient systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis

• Develop and monitor annual budgets, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
• Analyse financial performance against budgets and provide actionable insights to senior management.
• Work closely with leadership to contribute to the business operating plan.

Financial Reporting

• Produce timely and accurate financial reports, including cash flow, profit and loss, inventory, and debtor analysis.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and liaise with external auditors as required.

Compliance and Control

• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including tax, National Insurance (NI), and other financial obligations.
• Develop and maintain financial control systems and procedures to safeguard company assets.

Operational Finance

• Manage purchase orders and ensure compliance with the authorisation process.
• Generate invoices and credit notes to maintain effective cash and credit control.
• Reconcile ledgers to ensure the accuracy of financial transactions.

Systems and Innovation

• Identify and implement improvements to financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency.
• Stay updated on developments in management accountancy to maintain a high standard of service delivery.

Collaboration and Leadership

• Act as a key advisor to senior colleagues, fostering collaboration across departments.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures in all financial matters.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• Fully qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA) with a clear pathway to qualification.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience managing financial control systems and processes.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to interpret financial data for strategic decision-making.
• Proficiency in accounting software and intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, including the ability to present financial data effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic business environment.
