Company Overview

Our client is a market leading precision manufacturer and due to increased demand and external investment, they are now in need of additional members of staff across the business with the Toolmaker position being one of high importance.

Key Requirements needed for Tool Maker applicants:

  • Proven experience working as a Toolmaker.
  • Previous experience working as a Bench Fitter/Mechanical Fitter, building and assembling mechanical products.
  • Happy to work in an open workshop with other engineers (being a team player is key to success in this role)
  • Ability to work to technical drawings and manufacturing processes.
  • When needed, be self-sufficient and maintain own workload throughout the day with limited support.
  • Experience operating a variety of typical hand tools and machinery needed in tool making trade (Mills, Lathes, Grinders)

Key Responsibilities for the Tool Maker vacancy:

  • Ability to operate manual machinery such as Mills, Lathes, Grinders etc.
  • Responsible for creating the jigs, moulds and fixtures used to assist in the manufacturing process.
  • Ability to deliver accurate measurements to ensure tool efficiency.
  • Utilizing and understanding technical drawings to work to tight tolerances.
  • Planning work efficiently and effectively to meet toolroom standards.
  • Ensure all personal protective equipment is identified, always available, correctly used and all associated problems are reported to management.
  • Document and update die history and other work records.
  • Record all relevant data in relation to tooling and record on the Tool Room database.

  • Training provided where necessary.

  • 20 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays rising 1 day per each year of service to maximum of 25 days.
  • Pension scheme (5%-3%)
