Job Types: Full-time, permanent, based in East Yorkshire  (office based with travel)

Renumeration: Competitive DOE car allowance and bonus

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a large leading East Yorkshire based company that are playing a significant role in reducing carbon emissions and the world-wide commitment to renewables and sustainability.

They are looking for a Head of Commercial to join their team. This role will play a pivotal role in driving growth for the commercial function for the business as well as working coherently with the group on strategic direction. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a proven track record in leadership and business growth.

The Head of Commercial will be responsible for:

  • Overall responsibility for the commercial function which includes dictating margin, client acquisition, account management, contracts, company strategy and group communication
  • Leading and management of the commercial function
  • Developing new markets
  • Ensuring sustainability is at the forefront and complied with in line with regulatory requirements
  • Analysis of market trends
  • Working across the company with other departments including HR, Finance, Operations, Transport and planning
  • Being part of the Senior Leadership Team
  • Accustomed to budget management, P&L, EBITDAR experience
  • Managing key accounts for the company (80% Leadership & 20% direct involvement)
  • Managing different customer streams including large contract lead accounts as well as more transactional customer channels
  • Managing the UK Commercial function
  • Completing appraisals and motivating a high performing team
  • Working with the group to create strategic alignment across the companies

The successful Head of Commercial will have the following:

  • Experience in renewables, waste, FMCG or commodity’s would be beneficial
  • High level of leadership experience with a track record of driving business growth
  • Experience with complex contracts for large accounts
  • Experience working with multiple customer channels
  • Experience of working within a group and reporting to board level
  • International experience would be advantageous due to the company structure but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills – Able to coach and develop a commercial function
