I'm seeking a talented and motivated Systems Integration Engineer to join a leading player in the aerospace sector based in Brough. They are pioneering advanced technologies for defence and military applications, and are proud to be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge systems for the next generation of fighter jets, that play a critical role in our national security.

Role Overview

As a Systems Integration Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the seamless integration of complex systems within fighter jet programmes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, software, hardware, and testing, to deliver high-performance solutions that meet stringent aerospace standards. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer looking to contribute to a high-profile, mission-critical project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the integration of avionics, mission systems, and other aircraft subsystems within fighter jet programmes.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure system requirements are fully understood and met.
  • Develop and execute integration and test plans, including simulation and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system integration issues during development and operational phases.
  • Conduct systems analysis to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and performance requirements.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to the development and testing teams.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems integration processes and methodologies.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in systems integration, ideally within the aerospace sector, with a focus on military aircraft or fighter jet systems.
  • Strong knowledge of avionics, flight control systems, and mission systems.
  • Familiarity with aerospace integration and testing methodologies, including HIL testing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and resolving integration challenges.
  • UK security clearance or the ability to obtain it is essential.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with software integration, including working with embedded systems and real-time operating systems.
  • Familiarity with military standards and regulations.
