Job description
Be responsible for managing the day to day running of the warehouse, ensuring that all delivery requirements for the depot are successfully met. The supervisor is required to monitor the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods, whilst being responsible for the management of the staff within the distribution team including warehouse staff.

The Role:
- Supervision of all staff with particular emphasis on those under direct control.
- Accurate control of stock movements within, into and out of the site.
- Accurate completion of all required paperwork.
- Development, creation, and utilization of warehouse related SOP's including the rolling out of same to the team.
- To analyse data to monitor performance and plan improvements.
- Control replenishment and removal of consumable stock from factory locations.
- electric pallet truck condition monitoring - operationally available and assessed regularly - daily
- To ensure good manufacturing practice is followed in the warehouse and associated areas especially with respect to horticulture production standards.
- To ensure that stock is stored within health and safety guidelines.
- To communicate with delivery companies to ensure requirements are met to meet operational targets.
- Any other reasonable duties that may arise during the course of day to day running of the warehouse function
- Delegating work to staff and managing their workload and output.
- Ensuring that the warehouse as a whole runs as efficiently and effectively as possible.
- Security checks on open/shut down of Site.
- To analyse data to monitor performance and plan improvements.
- Ensuring that products are dealt with efficiently in the warehouse and are successfully get delivered to customers.
- To ensure that the Warehouse and it's housekeeping are maintained to a high standard.
- To ensure that the Warehouse equipment including and PPE locations are kept up to date.
- To ensure all processes are followed and adhered to with regards to loading/unloading, including checking of all loads, shrink wrapping and load security.
- Delegating work to staff and managing their workload and output.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Use of Microsoft Excel for spreadsheets and records.
- Good team work skills.
- Good management & communication skills.
- Good product knowledge and warehousing policies and procedures.
The Person:
- Reliable
- Hold a driving License
- Able to work at a fast pace
- Substantial experience working in an horticulture environment
- Substantial experience of warehouse operations (FLT license (Counter Balance) held for this duration)
- Proven supervisory/leadership skills
- Demonstrable appreciation of KPI's
- Health and Safety awareness
