About the Role:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated Religious Education Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in Broughton. The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching RE across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, and committed to fostering a positive learning environment where students are encouraged to explore and develop their understanding of religion, philosophy, and ethics.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and thought-provoking RE lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Foster a respectful, inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and discussion around various religious beliefs and practices
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback and support for improvement
  • Differentiate teaching approaches to accommodate diverse learning needs, ensuring all students are challenged and supported
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create cross-curricular links and enhance the overall educational experience
  • Participate in school events, staff meetings, and continuous professional development activities
  • Uphold the school’s safeguarding policies, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students

 

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
  • A degree in Religious Education, Theology, Philosophy, or a related subject
  • Experience teaching RE at secondary school level, ideally up to A-Level
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A commitment to promoting tolerance, understanding, and diversity within the classroom

 

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in a similar role
  • A passion for engaging students in ethical debates and contemporary religious issues
  • Experience working with SEN students and adapting lessons to meet their needs
