Reeson Education is working with an 'outstanding' primary school in Islington, seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs (SEN). As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring pupils with SEN receive the help they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff as a SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils inside and outside the classroom.
  • Assist with lesson planning and delivery tailored to individual SEN needs.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support as a Teaching Assistant to pupils requiring extra help.
  • Track pupil progress and report back to staff and parents/guardians.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive environment, adhering to school policies.
  • Liaise with external professionals (e.g., speech therapists, educational psychologists) as required.
  • Attend training and professional development sessions as a Teaching Assistant to stay updated on best practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience with SEN pupils is desirable, but not essential for the right Teaching Assistant.
  • Strong communication, patience, and a positive attitude are essential.
  • Willingness to pursue further training and development.
