Customer Service Advisor - Temporary - Broxbourne - £13.84 per hour

We are recruiting for a temporary Customer Service Advisor to join the Information Centre Team at Hertford Regional College who act as the first point of contact for all visitors and provide impartial information, advice and guidance to students, prospective students, visitors and staff cross-campus at HRC’s state of art facilities in Broxbourne on a full time bases (Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week) on a Temporary Contract basis.

About The Role

The core purpose of a Customer Service Advisor at HRC is to be the first point of contact for all visitors and provide impartial information, advice and guidance to students, prospective students, visitors, and staff cross campus. The also enrol new students and process Bursary funds in accordance with funding guidance.

This is an office-based role, involving face to face & telephone contact with students and including administration duties.

Additional duties include:

  • Support the college admissions process, enrol students onto courses, take payments and administer various transactions.
  • Inputting personal details of applications onto the database
  • Undertaking administrative duties to support the team, assisting with Enrolments, Interview and Offer letters/emails, supporting the Bursary application administration and delivery.
  • Support and administer the college Bursary, Free School Meals, and Bus Pass issues.
  • Maintaining reception and Information Centre records
  • Producing Student ID Cards & validating details, including batch printing & validating those ID Cards for courses as well as issuing Temporary Student ID cards electronically
  • Supporting students and staff with internal carpark registrations via internal systems
  • Provide Telephone, email and Text communication to customers and students to ensure attendance at interviews, applicant events and collate gathered information as required by departments
  • Controlling the entry to the Campus and main reception area, including car parks by issuing Visitor Passes and informing visitors of the Safeguarding and Health and Safety policy.
  • To be the first point of contact for all visitors to the College across campus and provide a full range of Reception & Information Centre services whilst providing a high level of customer care.
  • Present a professional and welcoming first contact with customers to include providing information, advice and guidance as required by internal and external customers.
  • To work as part of a Customer Service Team within the Information Centre, providing impartial information, advice and guidance to students, prospective students, visitors, and staff.
  • Processing incoming and outgoing telephone calls using the Teams telephone systems and relaying messages as required within expected time frames.
  • To provide initial advice to prospective students, current students, and customers through a variety of media, e.g. telephone, e-mail, post, and text messaging.
  • Processing incoming and outgoing calls via the main switchboard with the expected time frames.
  • Provide a range of services for the reception including internal & external post duties. Receiving incoming mail and deliveries and consulting with colleagues to ensure that incoming and outgoing mail are dealt with quickly and efficiently.

About You

Successful candidates will have a proven background in a customer focused environment, experience of dealing with customers both in person and over the phone or online, and capable of using your initiative to give excellent customer care, you will have experience in prioritising and achieving high quality work with minimal supervision and use of own initiative.

You will possess the ability to operate a switchboard or a willingness to be trained.

Most importantly you will have a commitment to deliver the highest levels of customer service with a proven background in a customer care environment.

You will have effective and concise communication skills, both oral and written, a positive and flexible attitude to maintaining quality services within a changing environment and a high level of interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with people at all levels.

You will have achieved a minimum of Grade C/Level 4 in GCSE English and Maths.
