We are recruiting a temporary Training Restaurant Manager to work at Hertford Regional College to help deliver an outstanding learner experience and be inspirational to students at our state of art facilities in Broxbourne.

About The Role

We are seeking an individual who is passionate about supporting our learners in developing their knowledge and practical skills in Hospitality (Catering) within HRC’s bespoke onsite Training Restaurant.

You will supervise the learners in the training restaurant and provide a high-quality learning environment. This will include among others supervising the learners in:

  • Preparation of the restaurant for service at lunchtimes and evenings
  • Taking orders from customers and communicating this to the kitchens
  • Serving food and drink to customers
  • Handling customer queries and complaints
  • Processing orders and handling payments using the electronic point of sale system
  • Cleaning down the bar area and restaurant at the end of service

You will also liaise with teaching staff in order that they can

· Be familiar with individual student learning needs and their programme of study requirements

· Assess students in their practical sessions and provide feedback

· Keep accurate records in line with awarding body requirements

· Feedback to tutors the conduct and behaviour of students while in the restaurant

· Produce reports on learners performance and record on the system

About You

You will have recent experience of working in a restaurant in a supervisory capacity and proven experience of managing and leading a team. Ideally you will have some experience of training and assessing in the post 16 education sector or in the workplace.

You will have a working knowledge of the Hospitality and Catering industry and Health and Safety within hospitality and catering. You will have good administration skills and familiarity with the use of PC systems, good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to analyse and interpret information.

You will have enthusiasm for all aspects of post 16 education and commitment to education, a willingness to work as a member of the programme team and be able to work flexibly throughout the week/over the year by prior agreement.
