Exams Invigilator - Temporary - part time - Broxbourne & Ware - £14.77

We are recruiting temporary Exams Invigilators to support students in their exams at Hertford Regional College. We are looking for individuals that can support with the supervision of exams, as well as staff to support students with their reading and writing during exams.

About The Role

The exams team at HRC is well-established, and you will be well supported in your work. Previous experience is not an essential as you will be supported with training session before you start which you will be paid for. The minimum age requirement for this role is 18 years of age.

You will assist with setting up of exam venues, checking examination packs, assisting candidates and actively invigilating during examination.

You will be required to support students at all levels and age groups during the Invigilating session, whilst maintaining good communication and an air of authority for compliance.

The working hours are not numerous and only required in busy exam periods. Therefore, this position might suit someone who normally cannot commit long-term to permanent or part time positions but can do some hours when exams come along.

The key exam dates are in January, May and June 2025 with various dates before and after.

Key working times are generally from 8.30am to 11.30am - 9am to 12pm, 9.30am to 12.30pm or 12pm to 3pm, which the department are happy to be flexible on.

You will be paid an hourly rate of £14.77. Hours are casual, on an ad-hoc basis. Applicants are welcome to do as much or as little as they can.

About You

You will be confident person with great communication skills. You will be required to check attendance and record relevant details, and you may also be required to scribe/read for students so strong communication, both written and verbal, are essential.

You will have strong attention to detail and the ability to remain vigilant for extended periods, you will have the ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively. You will be reliable and punctual.
