Hays are supporting a regionally based construction company, who specialise in listed buildings, including building and restoration. As a result of expanding projects, they require a quantity surveyor to join the team to support the Director with intermediate level duties. As a QS you will play a crucial role in managing aspects of procurement, invoicing, tenders and bidding. Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyse costings for tenders.
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate cost control.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labour costs.
  • Negotiate contracts and work schedules.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, costs, and any variations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, or similar field
  • Proven experience as a QS
  • Knowledge of construction sites and ideally listed buildings
  • Strong communication skills
