Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of adults, especially parents - expectant Mums and Dads and parents with a child under the age of three ? At CrossReach Counselling Services, we’re on the lookout for a dedicated Senior Counsellor to join our vibrant team. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of our mission, providing quality counselling, therapy, and support. Guided by the highest professional standards, you’ll help ensure our services reflect CrossReach’s Christian ethos and mission.

As a Senior Counsellor, you’ll manage your own client caseload and play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our service. This includes overseeing client referrals and assessments, managing the waiting list, and allocating clients to our skilled team of counsellors and volunteers. Your input will be crucial in shaping policies and procedures, ensuring we adhere to CrossReach’s guidelines, and participating in the recruitment and training of a multidisciplinary team.

Your leadership will extend to providing clinical supervision for volunteers, collaborating with other professionals on safeguarding issues, and contributing to the development and delivery of training programs. You’ll work closely with the service manager to raise awareness and promote our therapy services. Together, you’ll ensure we maintain COSCA Service Recognition and adhere to the ethical frameworks of COSCA and BACP/BAAT. Additionally, you’ll liaise with various professional, statutory, and voluntary organizations to enhance our service delivery.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need a Diploma in Counselling, Art Therapy, or Play Therapy, along with significant post-qualifying practice hours and experience in counselling. Your skills in clinical supervision, communication, and teamwork will be essential, as will your basic computer literacy. If you have experience of working with perinatal clients and in delivering training, that’s a plus

We also offer you a range of benefits that you would expect from an organisation that support others.

Firstly, there is access to a wide range of exclusive retail and leisure discounts through our rewards scheme and the Blue Light Discount card. Balancing work and family are made easier with our suite of enhanced family friendly policies and your health and wellness are prioritised with access to our health cash plan, giving you cash back for a wide range of health treatments. We even have access to a care concierge service to assist you with life's challenges, providing invaluable support when you need it most.

But we also know that your training and development is important to you, and as well as a contribution to your professional membership fees, we are keen to support you in making the right steps to learn, grow and develop in ways that are right for you.
