Exciting Opportunity: Embedded Software Engineer for KO2's Client in Buckinghamshire!

KO2 Embedded Recruitment Solutions is thrilled to represent a unique opportunity with our client, a leading provider of high-precision positioning solutions for the automotive, gaming, and film industries.

About Our Client: Located in the heart of Buckinghamshire, our client is a small but mighty company with a team of 120 dedicated professionals. With over 17 years of engineering excellence, they have established themselves as a global leader, exporting their technology to over 100 countries. Their raison d'etre is delivering highly accurate GPS-based positioning solutions, but they are now expanding into new territories, including video capture, vehicle sensor integration, and indoor positioning systems using ultra-wideband technologies.

The Role: The business are seeking a motivated and skilled Embedded Software Engineer with a few years of commercial experience to join a growing team of 30 engineers. This role offers an excellent learning environment, working alongside senior engineers with expertise in Embedded Linux, bare-metal C, and modern C++.

You will have the opportunity to work on high-integrity systems where every nanosecond counts, contributing to the development of time-critical products used to validate advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and other safety-critical automotive technologies. Your work will directly impact the safety and performance of vehicles worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize embedded systems using C and C++ in bare-metal and RTOS environments.
  • Collaborate closely with software, firmware, and hardware teams to create innovative solutions.
  • Participate in the full product development lifecycle, from concept to deployment.
  • Engage in continuous learning, including advanced tools like Yocto build systems.

About You:

  • Proficient in Embedded C or Python or Modern C++ (C++14) within an embedded environment. You do not need to have all these skills
  • Experience with RTOS and bare-metal programming.
  • Eager to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a genuine interest in the automotive industry.
  • Autonomous, driven, and excited about contributing to innovative technologies that make a real impact.
