Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver inspiring and engaging Music lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, in line with the national curriculum.
- Foster a love for music through creative lesson planning, incorporating both practical and theoretical elements.
- Teach performance, composition, and music theory, catering to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
- Organize and lead extracurricular music activities, such as choirs, bands, and school concerts.
- Regularly assess student progress through assignments, performances, and constructive feedback.
- Stay informed about advancements in music education and utilize innovative teaching methods and technologies.
- Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the school’s cultural and artistic events and initiatives.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Music or a related discipline.
- Proven experience teaching Music at the secondary level, with knowledge of both practical and theoretical aspects of the subject.
- Strong understanding of the national curriculum and the ability to design engaging, high-quality lessons.
- Excellent classroom management skills, coupled with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Enthusiasm for organizing and participating in extracurricular activities to enrich students’ musical experiences.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A valid Enhanced DBS check and up-to-date professional references.
