Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Buckinghamshire. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing costs and budgets for construction projects, ensuring financial efficiency, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Management: Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for construction projects.
  • Tendering & Procurement: Manage the tendering process, including preparing and issuing tender documents, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts.
  • Contract Administration: Administer contracts, including change orders, variations, and claims, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Cost Control: Monitor project costs and expenditures, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or potential issues.
  • Reporting: Provide regular financial reports and updates to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Site Visits: Conduct site visits to assess progress, ensure quality control, and manage cost implications.
  • Client Liaison: Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to address any cost-related queries or issues.
  • Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all financial transactions and project records.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional membership with RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or working towards it is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of construction processes and cost management.
  • Skills: Excellent numerical and analytical skills, proficiency in cost management software, and strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and cost estimation.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues proactively and effectively.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
