We have a permanentMechanical Craftsperson - Cranes role available within Tata Steel Colors, Shotton. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical maintenance skills, especially in crane systems, and is perfect for individuals eager to contribute to a leading global steel enterprise.

Role:Mechanical Craftsperson - CranesLocation:Shotton, North West, including North Wales (CH5)Rate:£33,477 - £36,651 annually + BonusContract Length:PermanentShift Patterns:Days: 8 am - 4 pm

Responsibilities:

  • Uphold Health, Safety, and Environmental standards following IMS procedures and PPE guidelines
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on Overhead Travelling Cranes
  • Perform mechanical repairs according to existing schematics within set deadlines
  • Contribute to the design and production of spare parts for cranes
  • Refurbish existing machinery and support production line maintenance during downtime
  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives to enhance safety and cleanliness within the Crane Maintenance Team
  • Perform additional duties in Workshops, auxiliary plants, and during downshifts as needed
  • Conduct Zone Safety audits and Risk assessments according to the company's Safety Sub Plan

Essential Requirements:

  • Extensive experience as a fitter in the steel or construction industry
  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent risk assessment skills and confidence in addressing safety concerns

Desirable Requirements:

  • Driving license and use of a car
  • Knowledge of crane maintenance systems
